This is called a pretty snub.
The famous ordeal of the restaurant war in “Top Chef” always makes people disappointed.
Only two out of three concepts are, in fact, chosen and a restaurant never opens its doors.
Season 14, currently broadcast on M6, is no exception and it was Carla, Jean and Mathieu who stayed on the floor with their idea of a place mixing French and Mexican culture and baptized Cantina Francesa.

Culinary critic François-Régis Gaudry and some inhabitants of Suresnes (where the event took place) who were the jurors of the evening, preferred Verso-Recto and À table!, the places respectively imagined by the trio Sarika, Jérémie and Hugo and by the brigade leaders.
It was ultimately the establishment led by Philippe Etchebest, Paul Pairet and Glenn Viel that won.
Disappointed but not completely defeated, Carla, Jean and Mathieu decided to bounce back by finally giving life, for a few days, to their concept imagined during the war of restaurants and which they had not been able to open.

Carla, Jean and Jacques, Mathieu's brother - retained in New Zealand where he works - will thus be in the kitchen of their famous Cantina Francesa to offer a menu merging French and Mexican culinary specialties.
The three friends will welcome the guests and will offer two offers each day depending on the time of day.
At noon, customers will enjoy a three-course lunch with several possible choices for 28 euros and, in the evening, they will discover a six-course tasting menu for a cost of 57 euros.
The experience will be accompanied by a drink offer highlighting Mexican products such as Mezcal or Tequila.

Jean Covillault about the opening of Cantina Francesa
This concept will come to life within the walls of the Sélune restaurant, belonging to Bérengère Fagart, another candidate for season 14 of the culinary competition broadcast on M6, for ten days: from Tuesday May 16 to Saturday May 27.
Reservations are made on the site https://cantina-francesa.webflow.io/ created for the occasion.
After his elimination this Wednesday, May 3, Jean Covillault had not lost his smile and told us that he had lots of projects, one of which was at the end of May.

, he predicted enthusiastically.
The young cook was just talking about this lovely surprise.
It should be noted that he will also be at the helm of the Bistrot Top Chef in Suresnes on Wednesday May 10 and that he will continue, after the opening of Cantina Francesca, with many other residency projects this summer, notably in Moulins sur Alliers and near Bordeaux.
Last year, M6 had, for the first time, opened the winning establishment of the restaurant war.
Called Philo-Saucisse, it had delighted fans of the show during its few weeks of opening.
