Built in 1750 and erected as a "writers' residence", it has welcomed the greatest figures of literature thanks to its proximity to the Maison Gallimard. Chateaubriand and Romain Gary stayed there. In 1815, the building was recognized as a hotel. During World War I, it was occupied by the government. The cocktail bar of the establishment, still relevant, was the very first in the capital. This is where the art of mixology (inspired by the Americans) is revealed in Paris.

Acquired by the Desgardins family in 1923, the Hôtel Pont Royal has kept all its period splendor and artistic DNA. A strong positioning that allows it to offer a luxurious setting while maintaining its authenticity. With 74 rooms and suites spread over 8 floors, it shines with its idyllic location. This is evidenced by its terraces overlooking the must-see monuments of Paris. From the 6th floor, some rooms are equipped with a balcony or a panoramic terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower, the Sacré-Coeur or the famous rue du Bac, renowned for its typical Parisian charm. Highlight of the show? A penthouse suite on the 8th and last floor with two connecting suites that can merge. Very courted for its postcard-worthy panorama, the terrace can be privatized for events.

The Michelin-starred workshop by Joël Robuchon

Designed as a real place of life, which honors epicureans, the Hotel also houses a gourmet restaurant. The Atelier of Joël Robuchon, a multi-Michelin-starred chef, offers a unique culinary journey. The chef surrounded by his brigade concocts every day (lunch and dinner) a refined cuisine under the ecstatic eye of customers, thanks to the open space. We attend live the preparation of the dishes and we create our own tailor-made menu, according to our desires.

Adjoining the restaurant, the Hotel has kept its period bar and preserved its identity. Behind him, the best apprentice in France and her Head Bartender create classic, signature or more eccentric and original creations in a friendly and cozy atmosphere. It is also possible to have lunch or dinner on the go by succumbing to the suggestions offered à la carte, installed in a comfortable club chair. Other gourmet events are regularly organized: the "Sweet Break" from Friday to Sunday in partnership with Pastry Chef Carl Marletti, exceptional breakfast (served in rooms or in the Mosaic lounge facing the Japanese Garden) ... Not to mention the cultural highlights, faithful to the jazzy and arty lineage of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. With a heart set on maintaining the neighbourhood's dynamics, the Hôtel Pont Royal nourishes a quality program. This is evidenced by its jazz evenings, open to the general public, which is suitable for live musicians. The concert takes place in the Library Room from 19:30 pm every other Monday. To perfect the picture, the Salon Bibliothèque welcomes every 3rd Thursday of the month from September 21st, an author from Maison Gallimard for a reading and signing of works alongside a winemaker who will present some of his references, themselves served in accordance with dishes made by the Restaurant l'Atelier de Joël Robuchon.
