Bochum goalkeeper Manuel Riemann has jumped to the side of his unfortunate Nuremberg colleague Benedikt Willert. The 31-year-old went in the 3-1 victory of VfL in the second division duel with the FCN on Monday evening in the halftime to the Bochum fan grandstand in the east curve and signaled the attachment with the tongue in front of his forefinger, with the infatuation with the stop young keeper.
"I just did not think it was wise to put down the opposing goalkeeper because he did not deserve it," Riemann later said. The 18-year-old professional midfielder Willert was mocked by Simon Lorenz (40th minute) because of a stumbling break with chants like "fifth keeper, everybody knows why". Willert came to his league premiere because the other four keeper of FCN were not available because of injury or illness.
Riemann thought his opponent had "made a really good game for me, it was not a mistake for him, it was not a simple ball, he came to the gate with a lot of cuts, jumped up and the wall parted". Riemann said of his fair play gesture, "That's why I wanted to tell the fans that they should refrain from calling."
