In Lyon, the training center will be named after Gérard Houllier

Jean-Michel Aulas announced on Tuesday evening his intention to rename the name of the OL training center, to pay tribute to Gérard Houllier, who died on December 14.

And a wink that Gérard Houllier would not have denied.

The Olympique Lyonnais training center in Décines-Charpieu (Metropolis of Lyon) will be called "Gérard-Houllier training center" named after the former club coach who recently died at the age of 73. OL president Jean-Michel Aulas announced Tuesday on Eurosport.

Houllier coached Lyon between 2005 and 2007 with two French championship titles and two Champions Trophies.

He returned to the club in 2015 as an advisor to Jean-Michel Aulas.

“We are going to rename the training center by the name of Gérard Houllier.
