SC Riessersee is continuing to build the squad for the 2021/22 season in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd.

Now the traditional club has announced that Aziz Ehliz is coming back from EC Peiting to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen -

Aziz Ehliz is impressed: “You can tell immediately how much experience he has and what he's planning with the team. With him, the SC Riessersee will go far. ”Ehliz loses these big words about coach Pat Cortina, who will also be his coach in the next season of the ice hockey Oberliga Süd. Because the 23-year-old is returning to the traditional club from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the 2018/19 season, Ehliz from the DEL2 switched from the Tölzer Löwen, where he had also played through all the youth teams, to the white-blue team. In 68 games he contributed 28 scorer points, but could not recommend himself for further tasks. Ex-SCR coach George Kink did not plan with Ehliz, who then joined league competitor EC Peiting. But the striker was not happy there in the difficult Corona season. “The season was very mixed. We were often in quarantine, which always threw us back, ”says the native of Bad Tölzer. Subsequently, the ECP did not submit a new contract offer to him.

Striker should now make the breakthrough

At this point, Ehliz had already had more intensive discussions with SCR Managing Director Pana Christakakis, who had always kept an eye on the 23-year-old. “The contact never actually broke off,” says Christakakis. He is happy about the renewed change and reports that coach Cortina was just as impressed by Ehliz and wanted the winger in his team. But now Ehliz should also deliver. “He's been playing in the major league for three years and is at an age where he has to take on responsibility. He should now make the breakthrough, ”emphasizes Christakakis. Ehliz has the necessary attributes for this. "One of his strengths is his attitude, he is extremely willing to learn, has a good feel for the game and has also gained in mass," Christakakis lists. But the manager also knowsWhat it has been lacking so far: “The constancy. He has to make it to the scoreboard more than once. "

Strange feeling to walk past the SCR cabin

In order to be able to implement these requirements, Ehliz is already processing his summer training plan.

This also includes the necessary variety, which is why he also works in a carpentry shop.

The focus, however, is clearly on ice hockey, and slowly but surely he is getting excited about being able to play again at the Olympic Ice Sports Center.

He did that twice last season, but not in a white and blue jersey.

“It was a strange feeling, especially walking past the SCR cabin, where all the guys were that we knew from the previous year.” It was also funny to play in front of empty stands, in the OEZ as in Peiting.

“The fans were definitely missing from the stadium.

You don't want to experience a situation like that again. "

Ehliz wants to play for the title

In the season 21/22 everything should be different again.

Ehliz wants to play in front of spectators, celebrate successes with the SCR, and do his part.

"My goal is to help the team as much as possible, to push us forward so that we have a good position for the playoffs and can fight our way to the title."
