Because the 23-year-old is returning to the traditional club from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the 2018/19 season, Ehliz from the DEL2 switched from the Tölzer Löwen, where he had also played through all the youth teams, to the white-blue team. In 68 games he contributed 28 scorer points, but could not recommend himself for further tasks. Ex-SCR coach George Kink did not plan with Ehliz, who then joined league competitor EC Peiting. But the striker was not happy there in the difficult Corona season. “The season was very mixed.We were often in quarantine, which always threw us back, ”says the native of Bad Tölzer. Subsequently, the ECP did not submit a new contract offer to him.

Striker should now make the breakthrough

At this point, Ehliz had already had more intensive discussions with SCR Managing Director Pana Christakakis, who had always kept an eye on the 23-year-old. “The contact never actually broke off,” says Christakakis. He is happy about the renewed change and reports that coach Cortina was just as impressed by Ehliz and wanted the winger in his team. But now Ehliz should also deliver. “He's been playing in the major league for three years and is at an age where he has to take on responsibility. He should now make the breakthrough, ”emphasizes Christakakis. Ehliz has the necessary attributes for this. "One of his strengths is his attitude, he is extremely willing to learn, has a good feel for the game and has also gained in mass," Christakakis lists.
