Bayern Munich's Polish international Robert Lewandowski was awarded the Golden Player of the Year award, presented by the Italian newspaper Toto Sport.
According to the newspaper, Lewandowski was crowned with this award as the best player in 2021, surpassing the runner-up Jorginho, the Chelsea midfielder, and Lionel Messi, the French Paris Saint-Germain player, who ranked third.
The Polish star was crowned with this award last year as well, to win the award for the second time in a row.
It is noteworthy that Lewandowski, 33, is also a strong candidate for winning the Ballon d'Or presented by France Football magazine, along with Karim Benzema, Real Madrid player, Lionel Messi and Jorginho.
