. However, the atmosphere there is not really festive. After Guadeloupe, where the situation has degenerated in recent days, tipping into violence, a general strike movement began in Martinique on Monday. From daybreak, blocking actions took place in the activity zones of Lamentin and Fort-de-France on the call of some twenty unions. In particular, access to the port and to the refinery were blocked.

Then in the middle of the morning, several thousand people demonstrated in the city center.
The procession notably skirted the gates of the Transat Jacques Vabre village, on the edge of the Baie des Flamands.
