The Brazilian soccer hero Pelé left the clinic in São Paulo after a two-week stay.
The Albert Einstein Hospital announced on Thursday that the 81-year-old Pelé was in a "stable condition" and that his colon tumor was being treated further.
At the beginning of September, Pelé had a tumor removed from the colon that doctors had previously discovered during a routine examination.
Because of breathing problems, Pele had to be transferred back to the intensive care unit for a short time.
He had to stay in the hospital for about a month after the procedure.
The former soccer star was able to leave the hospital at the end of September.
He continued chemotherapy at home.
On December 9th, he had to go to the clinic again.
Joy on social media
“As promised, I will spend Christmas with my family,” wrote Pelé on Instagram and Twitter under a photo in which he looks at the camera with a smile: “I'm coming back home.
Thank you for all the lovely news. "
Pelé's health has repeatedly been a cause for concern over the past few years.
He underwent several hip operations.
He also had problems with his spine and knee.
Two years ago he had a kidney stone removed after a urinary tract infection.
Pelé made 92 appearances for Brazil and won three world championship titles: 1958, 1962 and 1970.
