SV Raisting takes on SC Pöcking on Holy Saturday.

A contrast program for the SVR after the game against Denklingen.

Coach Johannes Franz urges caution.

Raisting - On Maundy Thursday, Johannes Franz swore his footballers to the suffering that awaited them in Kartagen.

Because the coach of SV Raisting is only too aware that after the hosanna in the 2-0 win over VfL Denklingen on Saturday (3 p.m.) in Pöcking, the exact opposite of the celebration is threatening.

“It will be brutally difficult mentally,” predicts the coach.

"You beat the second in the table and then comes the bottom of the table."

It's a kind of character test for his kickers.

In the past few weeks there has been a lot of talk about participation in training and recruitment in the Raiffeisen Arena.

Franz knows that in the end he can rely on his staff, even if they occasionally miss his practice sessions due to shift work or various injuries.

But he wishes that each of his kickers was inspired a little by the spirit that also lives in him.

"We're making sure that we play against Pöcking with the same attitude and the same will," he expects that the success over VfL will be the initial spark.

There is still a lot possible for the fourth in the district league south.

The gap to VfL Denklingen, who is currently second but has also played one game less, is only four points.

For some Raistingers this may mean a new insight.

"We definitely didn't talk about the table," admits Franz that he has recently narrowed his team's horizons a bit.

The view should only be directed from game to game in the coming weeks.

"That's still a long way to go," the coach refers to six outstanding stages that his team still has to master.

However, the goal is clear.

"Put it all out and get three points in every game."

It will be interesting to see how his ensemble deals with this situation.

It didn't just prove against Denklingen that it has the potential to be among the top two in the league.

The team could have reached the top by now if they hadn't given away a point or two.

"We are aware that if you don't score points, you don't belong to the absolute elite," admits Franz that his team has lacked that certain something so far.

More than ever, the current phase of the season is about not leaving anything behind.

The team also has to cope with ever new handicaps.

Denis Grgic broke his finger in the game against Denklingen during a check that ended in the substitutes' bench and needs an operation.

"It's extremely bitter," admits Franz.

"He's one of those players that we can hardly replace." That's the only thing they won't be able to lament about in Raisting.

Now eleven players can be enough if they only have the necessary will and belief in themselves.
