Even without seven regular players, SV Heimstetten is celebrating in the Bavarian regional league: a skeleton team wins a 4-3 win against FC Augsburg's Bundesliga reserves.

Heimstetten

– When FC Augsburg II hit a last desperation ball into the half of SV Heimstetten in the 93rd minute, it seemed for a moment that Mohamad Awata would rather duck his head – which would not be surprising.

Because the Syrian, who works for the SVH, clashed with an opponent in the first half of this regional league game and has been wearing a not very accurately wrapped turban around his head ever since.

Despite this history, the 28-year-old climbs up into the air fight in added time, heads the ball out of the danger zone and then lets out a primal scream, as is otherwise known from javelin throwers after particularly successful attempts.

Awata celebrates himself, celebrates his action and celebrates his team, who had to put up with several stomach swings that afternoon and still celebrated a 4:3 win less than sixty seconds later - a "victory of will", as double goalscorer Sebastiano Nappo later said designated.

Moreover, it is the victory of a skeleton squad, after all, no less than seven "absolute regular players" were missing from his team, coach Christoph Schmitt stated afterwards.

But despite this difficult starting position, the SVH landed their fourth home win in a row, which is also a big point in the relegation battle.

Because this time – unlike in the previous weeks – the competition almost always came away empty-handed, Heimstetten increased the lead over relegation and relegation places to three and seven points respectively.

And the SVH can take another step towards staying up in the league on Wednesday when they play the third-bottom SpVgg Greuther Fürth II in a catch-up game.

Ex-Augsburg Sebastiano Nappo scores twice

If Heimstettner want to continue their winning streak there, they should build on the performance in the first half against Augsburg.

His team "defended very consistently", praises Schmitt, and also used his few chances ice cold - thanks to Sebastiano Nappo.

Because of all people, the ex-Augsburg headed the SVH into the lead and five minutes before the break also initiated the second goal with a brilliant 25-meter cracker.

This just flies to the crossbar, but from there the ball jumps to Emre Tunc, who effortlessly pushes it in to make it 2-0.

After the change, the hosts faltered briefly when Augsburg scored the goal.

But just a few minutes later, Nappo restored the old two-goal gap again, so that hardly anyone among the fewer than 150 spectators seriously expected the guests to come back - wrongly, as it turns out.

Because with the feeling of certain victory, Heimstetten becomes careless and invites FCA to score twice within four minutes.

The SVH alone has the last word in this spectacular game: After a counterattack, substitute Alexis Fambo puts the ball right next to the post - a goal that he celebrates with an artistic backflip.

After his 4: 3, Heimstettner still have to tremble for ten minutes before they can celebrate their third win in the last four games.
