On Sunday, 80 spring models will be marked to mark.

Whoever was one of the great symbols of Maccabi Jaffa still has a hard time forgiving the accusations against him ("Dirty board members accused me of relegation"), recreates the club's good old days and reveals how he was allowed to play with an umbrella

"I left Maccabi Jaffa in 1970 after a number of vile management members accused me of relegating the team to the first division, they said I gave up the game."

It's a burn on my mind and body to this day, this vicious plot. "

This coming Sunday will mark the 80th anniversary of the model. In the last round of the 1969/70 season, Maccabi Jaffa played an away game at the municipal stadium in Be'er Sheva against Hapoel Beer Sheva, which has already been relegated to the second division, then Ligue 1, "he recalls." Jaffa needed a victory to survive in the national league and relegate Bnei Yehuda with Beer seven.

Bring to the game a referee from Switzerland, Reconciliation Campbell.

Be'er Sheva played as if for the championship title, leading from a hail goal.

Motzi Leon equalized to 1: 1, but in the 85th minute Hail scored a victory in front of me and dragged Jaffa to the second league. "

He describes what happened next as a "dance of shame among a number of our board members, bad and vile people": "They were waiting for me in the corner. It was a story sucked from the imagination, which was not and was not created, because I did not give or sell the game, there was no connection between me and any other factor in this game, I concentrated only on the effort to beat Be'er Sheva."

And what happened next?

"There was a difficult exchange between me and those people of shame. I made it clear to everyone that things never were, and for every pound they claimed I received, pieces of meat would come off me."

The explosion ended with the departure of models after 15 years.

"52 years have passed since then and the anger has not passed yet. Hapoel Ramat Gan paid Jaffa big money for my player card. I moved to be the goalkeeper of Hapoel Ramat Gan in Makhtesh."

Rich history and experience of betrayal.

Models was born on 08/05/1942 in Iraq and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1950.

Today he is a retiree of the Tel Aviv Municipality, where he was employed for 43 years, and lives in Nahalat Yitzhak in Tel Aviv.

"We came through the port of Haifa, and for a while we lived in tents in Pardes Hanna. From there we moved to live in Rehovot. I played with Maccabi Sha'arim boys and in the mid-1950s we moved to Jaffa."

How did your goalie journey begin?

"Maccabi Shaareiim managers initially refused to release me. I was very attached to the team from the Rehovot suburb. As a teenager I often came to watch the training of Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Jaffa until the transfer was complete. Shirzi and Gabi Engel. "

At Maccabi Jaffa you meet coach Yitzhak Shneur.

"Shneur was a revered figure, a player who left Maccabi Tel Aviv and captain of the national team, a huge man, who led Maccabi Jaffa to the cup final in the 1956/57 season as a player, in which we lost to Hapoel Petah Tikva 2: 1 and did not relegate due to the 10-league relegation. "Only teams. I managed to play with the players of the founding generation of Jaffa - Miranda, Baruch Cohen, Avigdor Presiado, Yitzhak Aryeh, Bohus, Shmuel Levy, Gal and Basarglik."

He remembers the Jaffa of the 1950s.

"Sderot Yerushalayim was in the city center and most of the residents on both sides were immigrants from Bulgaria. Bulgarian was heard more than Hebrew in Jaffa. There was huge sympathy for Maccabi Jaffa, thousands flocked to the games in the bins. "We were the only ones who did not speak Bulgarian training. In the first years, the Bulgarians had Maccabi Jaffa in Israel and the Levski Sofia in Bulgaria."

With good friends.

In the 1957/8 season, he played his first game in the seniors, at Basa Stadium against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

"I was 16, and Shneur stated that I was the goalkeeper of the team for the coming years. I remember that we lost 0: 3 to the big team of Shia Glazer, Goldstein and Rafi Levy."

Schneur took care of his orderly work.

"Itzik wanted me to have a livelihood for the future. He arranged for me to work as a mechanic at Dan. The intention was for me to learn driving and enter as a Dan member. I had a crazy agenda of going to work at five-thirty in the morning, until tonight. Undeterred. "

In the 1959/60 season, Maccabi Jaffa played against Hapoel Haifa.

"We struggled at the bottom. I suffered from hemorrhage in my ankle and could not stand on my feet," Dagmi recalled. "I was in bed before the game in Kiryat Eliezer against Hapoel Haifa. In the locker room, even though I could not stand on my feet, they only convinced me to dress so that the Hapoel Haifa players would think I was the opening goalkeeper. Before going to the game, they convinced me to be the goalkeeper despite my condition. "Simcha Oren from Haifa, and at the break I was told to continue, the defense will protect you. It was a miracle that I did not concede more goals. We won in the end 1: 3 and the drop in goal ratio was Hapoel Ramat Gan."

And at the other end, almost a championship in the 1961/62 season.

"We had a great season with the rise of new generation players like Motzi Leon, Israel Ashkenazi, Aharon Levy, along with Bobby Kalmi, Bohus, and Shmuel Levy. Hapoel Petach Tikva won its fourth consecutive championship. Jaffa and Hapoel Tiberias were in the championship battle, a record season. "With the support of the fans in the games. The two losses to Hapoel Petah Tikva during the season were decisive in the end."

Did not agree to release.

He made three appearances for the Israeli national team - "in 1962 at the age of 20 against Ethiopia and later against Finland and the United States. In 1962 I was on the bench against the Turkish national team in Istanbul as a replacement for the giant Khodorov. I was on Emanuel Sheffer's squad for the 1968 Mexico Olympics."

In his generation there were excellent goalkeepers in addition to Khodorov, but the role was not simple.

"The players would go into the goalkeepers wildly and there were a lot of injuries," he says.

And there was also an offer from Europe.

"In 1968 I joined a European tour of Samson Tel Aviv. We played in Thessaloniki against Hercules. I had a huge goalkeeping day, I got a score of 9 in a game that ended 1: 1. At the Yitzhak Ben Best club, he flatly refused. 'Even if you offer 200,000 pounds,

After the fiasco with the management, Modi moved to Hapoel Ramat Gan.

The following season, 1970/71 participated in the game for promotion to the National League.

The opponent was ... Maccabi Jaffa.

"In Bloomfield, which organized a meeting between Hapoel Ramat Gan and Maccabi Jaffa in the last round of the 1970/71 season, I left. 22,000 spectators came, when a draw was enough for me and Ramat Gan to advance to the league. Moshe Onana won against me, we lost 1-0 and Jaffa qualified."

After the end of his contract with Hapoel Ramat Gan, Modi moved to Samson Tel Aviv.

"It was great fun to play in the vineyard team. Every word was in the rock, a handshake from Amos Tov, Shaul Sinwani and Ami Paztel was a heavyweight concrete."

In the late 1970s, chairman Yitzhak Asa returned Modi to Maccabi Jaffa. And Josian and Moshe masturbate once a week,

And what was the story with the famous picture with the umbrella?

"We played in Bloomfield against Hapoel Tiberias. We attacked in pouring rain and the photographer Arie Kanfer handed me an umbrella to photograph me. I held it, he photographed it and then I returned it to him."

And of course, we could not avoid the question of whether at least Maccabi Jaffa managed financially.

"Money? Absolutely not. I received two surgeries from Maccabi Jaffa, right and left in the pelvis, two surgeries on the shoulders and concussions, injuries and pain that I carry to this day."
