Since the beginning of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, world tennis authorities have sought to find a balance between supporting Ukrainian players, while not overwhelming the Russians.
But in the end, no one seems satisfied, so many are the fries on the lines.
As a reminder, on April 20, the organizers of Wimbledon and the LTA (British Tennis Federation) decided by prohibiting Russian and Belarusian players from participating in the tournament.
"In the context of an unjustified and unprecedented military aggression, it would be unacceptable for the Russian regime to derive any advantage from the participation of Russian or Belarusian players in the championships"
, they justified themselves in a press release.
This strong choice caused an outcry.
