At the end of a crazy day on the Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo Visma) won the 11th stage between Albertville and the Col du Granon.
For its first appearance on the Tour stage since 1986, the Col du Granon lived up to its reputation and crowned the Dane who took the opportunity to take the yellow jersey, after a terrible failure by Tadej Pogacar in the last ascent.
Colombian Nairo Quintana finished second on the stage, with Romain Bardet climbing the podium and David Gaudu finishing fifth.

Tadej Pogacar, the leader of the Tour de France, too lonely, was attacked all day by members of the Jumbo Visma team, and in particular in the ascent of Galibier.
The Slovenian responded to the attacks for a long time, even counter-attacked, before giving way heavily in the end.
He thus conceded 3'02 to the new yellow jersey and is now 2'23 behind in the general classification, ahead of Romain Bardet.
Warren Barguil led the race for a long time, turning the Galibier in the lead after climbing the Telegraph, but the Breton ended up giving in on the climb of the Granon, the most difficult, to let the victory slip away.
