The PSG transfer window accelerated this Saturday.
On the eve of leaving for a ten-day tour of Japan, the capital club has registered the reinforcement of its second recruit, after Portuguese midfielder Vitinha: striker Hugo Ekitike.
The 1.90m native from Rémois joined Paris from the Stade de Reims, where he had been playing since 2013. Aged 20, he is one of the great hopes of French football.
His arrival is official since this Saturday.
One-year loan with purchase option
PSG and Reims have reached an agreement around thirty million euros but in the form of a one-year loan with an option to buy.
Ekitike reached the capital on Friday, passed his medical examination and signed his contract at "La Factory", the club's headquarters in the evening.
The French international under 20 thus realizes his "dream" of wearing the Red and Blue jersey like his idol Kylian Mbappé while Newcastle was also in the ranks and offered more money to Stade de Reims.
“We didn't quite reach the sum offered by Newcastle (the English club offered 35 + 6 million bonuses) but Hugo Ekitike has always been respectful towards the club.
We are happy to allow him to fulfill his dream, ”explains Jean-Pierre Caillot, president of Reims with the newspaper L’Union.
After this signature, Ekitike will join his teammates, who left this Saturday afternoon for Tokyo (Japan).
