The activities of the 13th Arab Kickboxing Championship opened today at Al-Galaa Sports Hall in Damascus, with the participation of Egypt, Libya, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, Palestine, UAE, Sudan and Yemen, in addition to Syria, and will continue until next Saturday.

The tournament, which is organized by the Kickboxing Federation in cooperation with Shams Academy, includes competitions for men, women, youth and young women with the methods “Full contact, semi contact and K1”.

The opening ceremony witnessed sports performances and sports dance performances presented by athletes of different age groups, in the presence of a distinguished audience for the game, to be completed tomorrow.

President of the Arab Kickboxing Federation, Basil Al-Shaer, stressed the importance of holding the tournament in Syria, which is one of the strong countries in power games, especially kickboxing, in addition to its distinction in organizing sports tournaments in an outstanding manner because it possesses all the elements of organizational success, wishing for more tournaments to be held in Syria.

For his part, the President of the General Sports Federation, Firas Mualla, referred to the great efforts that were made to make the championship technically and organizationally successful, especially since it comes after a long absence from hosting the Arab championships, so that this championship comes as a good start for the return of Arab competitions again to Syria.

For his part, the head of the Kickboxing Federation, Manar Al-Bizra, drew attention to the intensive preparations that preceded the tournament, both in terms of organizational and in terms of preparing the players to come up with a distinguished copy at all levels, indicating that the Arab participants prepared well for this tournament, and the upcoming rounds competitions will reveal the technical levels clearly for each player separately. .

A number of participating players expressed their willingness to compete and win bright medals from the podiums in Syria, expressing their happiness to compete in Damascus in a championship that brought Arab athletes together in one hall.
