The quarter-final stage of the Winner Cup for the 2022/23 season will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday, 21:00) with the meeting between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Gilboa/Galil which will also be held in Hadera Hall.

The winner will meet Hapoel Holon in the semi-finals on Thursday, who beat Hapoel Galil Iliyon in the quarter-finals, while in the first semi-final Hapoel Jerusalem and Hapoel Tel Aviv will compete in the quarters.

Maccabi Tel Aviv comes to the game after a campaign of preparatory games in Europe that included five games from the beginning of the month, in which the team managed to score only one victory.

However, the club claims that there is a significant trend of improvement from game to game, and they hope to continue progressing until the start of the Euroleague in a little over a week.

Lorenzo Brown is a member of the team's training sessions, but was not included in the squad for the game and will wait for his debut for at least another two days.

Josh Niebo and Austin Hollins were also not listed, with the outsiders in yellow being Wade Baldwin, Jarel Martin, Alex Poythers, Bonzie Coulson and Darren Hilliard.

Maccabi hope to safely pass their first Israeli hurdle for this season.

Gilboa/Galil were happy with the victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva last week that advanced them to the quarterfinals.

Rami Hadar's team currently has six foreigners on the roster, with London Parentes, one of the only remnants from last season, still injured and ineligible.

Gilboa passed Be'er Sheva when Josh Perkins, perhaps the foreigner with the most significant reputation among the players of the squad, was injured during the game and did not return to the floor, and in his absence Tsuf Ben Moshe took leadership and recorded an excellent game.

The team sees the game as a significant test for the start of the season, and believe in the ability of the players to be able to record a respectable performance.
