The Tiberias International Winner Marathon started this morning (Friday) for the 45th time in a row with a record number of participants from Israel and the world.

The 8,500 runners were launched to the sound of the song "Yo Ya" in memory of the musician Yitzhak Kleftar, who passed away yesterday, and even before they started running, they applauded for a minute.

The race, considered a revolution in the running culture in Israel, was launched in several stages: a full marathon (42.2 km), half marathon (21.1 km), 10 km and a 5 km run.

The marathon is produced for the second year in a row by the leading production company in Israel "Electra Target".

For the 10th time, the Sports Betting Regulatory Council will serve as the main sponsor of the event.
