With another record: the Israeli short pool swimming championship was closed Israel today

The Israel "arena" championships in swimming in short pools closed today (Friday) with another Israeli record, the seventh in number in the championships, which was set by Orin Gavlan in the 1,500 meter freestyle.  

The 19th swimmer Bell from Po'el Ironi Hod Hasharon stopped the clocks at 16:43.72 minutes - an improvement of more than six seconds on the previous record set last year.

The silver medal was won by Omer Shortz from Maccabi Kiryat Bialik with a new youth record of 16:50.28 minutes and the bronze of Ofek Adir with 16:55.17 minutes. 

In the men's parallel swim, Matan Roditi won with a time of 15:02.80 minutes, ahead of Yoav Romano with 15:19.49 minutes and Yonatan Ahadot with 15:22.02 minutes.

Rodity was also crowned the outstanding swimmer of the competition, ahead of Denis Loktev and Chris Picchugin, while in the women's category, Anastasia Gorbenko was crowned outstanding, ahead of Orin Gavlan and Neta Usishkin. 

In the relay that closed the competition - 4x50 meter freestyle mix - Maccabi Haifa's teams won gold and silver, with the winning quartet clocking 1:36.52 minutes.

In this match, Hapoel Bat Yam broke the youth record with 1:39.58 minutes and Maccabi Rashel broke the Israeli record up to the age of 16 with 1:43.24 minutes. 

At the end of the five days of the competition, the one who was crowned the state champion for the second year in a row is Maccabi Haifa, which was ahead of Maccabi Rashel and Hapoel Bat Yam in the overall score table. This was also the ranking for the women, while for the men Haifa was ahead of Hapoel Jerusalem and Hapoel Dolphin Netanya The youth championship was won by Maccabi Rashel, ahead of Hapoel KPS and Maccabi Haifa.
