Halftime summary: Manchester City - Aston Villa 0:3 (Sport 1)

The game of football is not always sporty, but what happened in the cup match between the great Glasgow Rangers and Partick Thistle will probably be remembered for a few years due to the extraordinary sportsmanship that was in it.

Rangers hosted their League Two rivals for what on paper should have been a one-sided Scottish Cup last 16 tie.

But Holt scored for the visitors on a penalty kick and Kulak equalized in the 50th minute.

Then in the 70th minute came the controversial moment that created a huge scandal on the pitch.

Kevin Holt received the ball in his own half of the field after an injury to a Rangers player and planned to return the ball to the hosts.

But Malik Tillman just grabbed the ball from him, went past the goalkeeper and scored even though the Thistle players stopped playing because they were going to give the ball back to the Rangers anyway at the beginning of this move.

This goal created great chaos on the field, with the referees confirming it without a choice because it was legal.

But Michael Beal, the coach of Rangers, made the right and noble decision and ordered his players to allow the opponent to score the 2:2, and indeed it happened.

Thistle cleared the ball from the center of the field after the rebound and the Rangers players stood, including the keeper and watched Scott Tifonay score the equaliser.

The game continued, this time with no gestures from either side and James Saunders scored the winning goal in the 86th minute to give Rangers the ticket to the next stage with a dramatic 2:3 in a game that will also add a lot of respect to Rangers for their extraordinary sporting gesture.
