Freising

– Two competitions were still on the schedule for the track and field athletes of the LAG Mittlere Isar before the well-deserved carnival holidays.

And the ambition in the Freisinger camp was great, because after all it was about the Bavarian and southern German indoor championships.

Once again, the successes are impressive.

The 4x200-meter relay quartet was particularly tense: At the Southern German title fights in Sindelfingen at the beginning of February, the well-rehearsed team with Lina Bachmann, Lana Pavic, Emma Pfluger and Johanna Billmeir aimed for a top eight place in the U18 field.

With seventh place and a time of 1:51.25 minutes, the dress rehearsal for the Bavarian championships scheduled a week later in Munich's Werner-von-Linde-Halle was a success.

Lana Pavic has to retire because of a muscle injury

The quartet reckoned with great chances of being able to run at the front here.

Lina, Lana and Johanna got in the mood for the competition with the 60 meter sprint.

In 8.24 seconds, Lina sprinted to seventh place in the final.

However, her joy was limited because training colleague Lana had to give up shortly before the finish line with a muscle injury.

A relay mission was thus excluded.

But nobody thought about giving up - and so they found a replacement for Lana Pavic in Emilia Kurz from Dorfen an hour before the start.

Participation was secured – and so the 4x200 meter race for the U18s was full of adrenaline. All is well that ends well: With a time of 1:48.36 minutes, coach Gaby Hagl’s protégés not only matched their best relay performance, but also clawed the Bavarian championship title.

In addition to her relay assignment, Lina Bachmann also competed in her favorite discipline, triple jump.

In Sindelfingen she was still struggling a little with her excitement - after all, you don't experience southern German championships and a 40-minute stay in the callroom before the competition every day.

After that, the woman from Freising missed the board in all six jumps and at 11.30 meters she was only five centimeters short of her best.

She finished fifth.

It worked all the better for the Bavarians: thanks to a distance of 11.25 meters in the third attempt, she was sure of silver.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Her training colleague Johanna Billmeir was not yet at 100 percent due to illness, but she insisted on competing in the triple jump.

With 9.60 meters she took sixth place.

A week earlier, at the Süddeutsche, she was unlucky enough to be shot back twice in the 60-meter sprint.

When the start was successful on the third attempt, she overslept it.

Her time stopped at 8.56 seconds.

Emilia Bauer runs two personal best times

Meanwhile, 14-year-old Emilia Bauer took on the duel with the one-year-older at Bayern: with 9.77 seconds, she qualified for the B final in the 60-meter hurdles.

Here she sprinted to the finish in a new personal best time of 9.71 seconds and took 14th place.

And because one personal best was not enough for her, she added a second in the 60-meter sprint in the W 15 age group in 8.57 seconds.

Lotta Giersdorff from TSV Jahn Freising started at the Bavarian over the 1500 meter distance.

Despite strong competition and the merging of the U18 and U20 races, she accepted the challenge and ran a very courageous race.

She increased her pace in the last 300 meters and was finally able to celebrate a time of 5:00.70 minutes and bronze with the U18s.
