Sexual assault trial scheduled for June
The headquarters of the Angers club was searched twice, in June 2022 and then in January 2023. Transfers made by the SCO during the last mercatos would be in the sights of justice.
"
We present ourselves calmly to this police custody
," said Saïd Chabane's lawyer.
This is a dark new case for Chabane.
The Franco-Algerian entrepreneur was accused, in February 2020, of sexual assault by three women.
Since then, seven women have been identified as potential victims, all employees or ex-employees of the Angers club or the Cosnelle group (charcuterie products), of which Chabane is the CEO.
A trial is scheduled for June 2023. Angers are bottom of Ligue 1 and almost condemned to relegation.
