For a long time, the Munich team had tried to extend the offensive star's working paper, which would have expired in 2023.
With all their might, Brazzo and Co. wanted to prevent another top performer from leaving without a transfer.

The reason: FC Bayern wants to invest the millions from a possible Gnabry sale in a new attacker, a nine.
Sadio Mané, who also only moved to the Isar last summer, is to be handed over again.

Knowing full well that this is not Gnabry's parade position.
However, the coach lacks the alternatives this season.
Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting threatens the end of the season with his knee irritation, youngster Mathys Tel does one good to call him into a completely insecure team as a salutary striker.
After all, Gnabry scored the all-important 1-0 win against Hertha BSC last Sunday in classic striker style with a diving header.

The curious thing about the constellation is that if Brazzo and Kahn are currently really planning to sell Gnabry in the summer, the sports director and the chairman of the board could be gone earlier than their actual sales candidate.
Because on May 30th is the regular board meeting, where everything at FC Bayern is questioned and examined.
It's hard to imagine that a player has already been handed over by then.
Especially since the bosses recently publicly issued the "Focus on the Championship" route.
Still, quite a few expect heads to roll after this season.
