The first part of qualifying (Q1) of the Monaco Grand Prix, round 6 of the Formula 1 season, was temporarily interrupted on Saturday after an accident of Mexican Sergio Pérez.

The Red Bull driver, second provisional in the championship behind his teammate Max Verstappen, hit a wall, damaging the left side of his car.
There were 11 min 12 sec left on the stopwatch of the session.
This accident is a blow for Pérez, winner here in Monaco last year, because in the narrow streets of the Principality, qualifying is of particular importance, overtaking is usually difficult in the race.
