Danioth becomes world champion – but the injury misfortune remains true to her

In 2019, about two and a half years after the bad injury, the big triumph follows: Danioth becomes world champion and wins gold in the team competition in Are. In the World Cup, the Swiss won several top-10 placings. But the bad luck with injuries remains true to her. 2020 will be the worst year of her young career. Two cruciate ligament tears in his right knee within ten months put Danioth out of action for a long time. About a year later, she made her comeback, reaching tenth place in the slalom at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

In March 2023, the next bad news followed: During a European Cup race, the cruciate ligament ruptures again - for the fourth time in a few years. However, the 25-year-old does not lose her optimism and decides: an adventure holiday is needed
. For three weeks, Danioth then traveled through the United States with a friend in a van. On Instagram, she shared snapshots of her trip and wrote: "Wow, what a brilliant time we had? We've driven through six U.S. states, visited mountains, deserts, huge cities, the ocean."

Among other things, the friends visited the Grand Canyon, San Diego and Las Vegas. Danioth goes on to explain that they climbed through the "most beautiful national parks" in the heat and cold and spent "special moments, both in idyllic and creepy places". But the most important thing: "I lived in the moment and didn't think about the worries of the future," describes the Swiss.

Another operation after a fourth cruciate ligament tear and a dream vacation

Shortly after the holiday, the ski star contacted her fans again. "This trip was exactly what I needed. I was able to recharge my batteries for the next few weeks," Danioth describes happily. This week, the knee surgery followed.
