Famous British actor Iam Holm died at the age of 88. Fans of the “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” trilogies knew him especially for his role as Bilbo Sacquet.
His disappearance was confirmed by his agent to the British newspaper The Guardian. "He died peacefully in hospital with his family and caregiver," he said, adding that his illness was linked to Parkinson's disease.
Iam Holm had a great career in the theater, but also in the cinema where the first big role having made him known was that of Ash, in "Alien, the eighth passenger" in 1979. He had notably received the Interpretation Prize male in a supporting role at the Cannes Film Festival for his interpretation of Sam Mussabini in "Les Chariots de feu" by Hugh Hudson in 1981.
