Sir Ian Holm, a great Shakespearean actor who became very popular globally thanks to films such as Alien and the sagas of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, died this morning in a hospital in London, from an 88-year-old Parkinson's disease. Holm has established himself as a chameleon interpreter, becoming a leading figure of the Royal Shakespeare Company in the mid-1960s.
