The coronavirus epidemic continues to affect thousands of French people.

Public Health France lists in its daily report 427 deaths linked to Covid-19 in hospitals over the past 24 hours.

46,698 deaths have been recorded since the start of the epidemic, including 32,168 in hospitals.

Some 28,383 people have tested positive for the coronavirus since Tuesday: “25,506 cases confirmed by RT-PCR, including 4,219 linked to a catch-up of data […] and 2,877 cases confirmed by antigen test”, detailed the organization.

Both types of tests have been mentioned in the report since Tuesday.

2,435 new hospital admissions

In all 2,065,138 confirmed cases have been identified in France since the start of the epidemic, according to SPF.

The positivity rate of the tests (proportion of positive people out of all those tested) continues to drop, after having approached 22% at the end of October.

It stood at 16.2% this Wednesday, as the day before.

In its report for the day, the government also indicates that 4,759 people are currently in intensive care, including 361 admissions since the day before.

This indicator is particularly observed by the authorities, who fear an influx of patients who would clog emergency and intensive care departments.

This means that there are currently 32,811 infected people currently hospitalized.

Finally, 4,039 new clusters (foci of infection grouping together “at least three confirmed or probable cases, within a period of seven days”, according to the definition given by Public Health France) are being investigated.
