District of Ebersberg - However, an exciting election campaign is underway in many municipalities. Some incumbent mayors are no longer running for the upcoming election. Walter Brilmayer (CSU) is leaving the Ebersberg town hall after more than two decades. Five candidates want his post, including 24-year-old Alexander Gressierer (CSU) and Ebersberg's 2nd Mayor Toni Ried (FW).
There will also be new mayors in Vaterstetten, Poing, Anzing, Markt Schwaben, Steinhöring and Moosach. It will be particularly exciting there.

Mayor election 2020: Vaterstetten
In 2020 a new mayor will be elected in Vaterstetten. It is about the successor of incumbent Georg Reitsberger (free voters), who is not allowed to run for office after a term of office. Roland Meier will be his successor when it comes to the free voters. The CSU sends fire chief Leonhard Spitzauer into the race. Maria Wirnitzer is the mayor candidate of the SPD. Klaus Willenberg will start for the FDP and David Göhler for the Greens.
Mayor election 2020: Kirchseeon
The CSU in Kirchseeon sends Jan Paeplow into the race. It was a bumpy start for him, because the mayor candidate faced resistance in the town council. Domenico Ciccia is the candidate of the Kirchseeon Social Democrats. The Kirchseeon Greens chose their mayor candidate Andrea Oberhauser-Hainer. The Independent Voting Community (UWG) enters the race with Klaus Seidinger . It is already his second attempt at the mayor's office.
Mayor election 2020: Zorneding
There are currently four candidates in the Zornedingen candidate carousel: incumbent Piet Mayr is campaigning for the CSU. His competitor is Bianka Poschenrieder. She goes into the race for the SPD. The Liberals appointed Peter Pernsteiner candidate for mayor. The free voters do not nominate their own candidates. For the first time, the left also has its own candidate for mayor: Ramona Baumgartner.
Mayor election 2020: Pliening
There are three candidates for mayor in Pliening: incumbent Roland Frick (CSU), Markus Uffinger (initiative for Pliening) and Eva Strauss (SPD). The Greens and the independent New Forum group forego a candidate for mayor.
Mayor election 2020: Poing
Poing Mayor Albert Hingerl (SPD) is no longer running for the upcoming local elections. He will complete 20 years in office in March. The social democrat Reinhard Tonollo wants to inherit Hingerl. Rathaus manager Thomas Stark (CSU) also wants to have the chief position in local politics. The Free Voting Community (FWG) is entering the race with Günter Scherzl. Marc Salih competes for the FDP. Greens forego a candidate.
Mayor election 2020: Anzing
There is also a new mayor in Anzing. Incumbent Franz Finauer of the Independent Community of Anzing (UBA) may no longer stand for election due to age. On the one hand, his successor wants to start Kathrin Alte, who is racing for the CSU. The other challenger is Tobias Finauer. He is a candidate for mayor of the Greens and not related to the outgoing city councilor.
Mayor Election 2020: Forstinning
There is only one candidate for mayor in the northern municipality of Forstinning. The incumbent Rupert Ostermair. The CSU Forstinning unanimously elected him as their candidate.
Mayor election 2020: Markt Schwaben
There is also a change of mayor in the northernmost municipality in the district: Georg Hohmann (SPD) has to leave the Swabian town hall for reasons of age. There are four candidates for his post: The Greens send the Oberbräu landlord Raphael Brandes into the race. The free voters and social democrats in Markt Schwaben agreed on the independent candidate Michael Stolze. Sascha Hertel is campaigning for the future Markt Schwaben (ZMS). The acting head of the building authority, Frank Eichner, is in charge of the CSU.
Mayor election 2020: Hohenlinden
There are also two candidates for mayor in Hohenlinden. City council chief Ludwig Maurer from the non-partisan voters community Hohenlinden (ÜWH) is aiming for his fifth term. The commoners send Martin Huber into the race for the executive chair.

Mayor election 2020: Steinhöring
The incumbent mayor Alois Hofstetter (CSU) stops in the eastern municipality of Steinhöring. The candidates for the position are in position: Robert Wagner for the non-party voters' community Steinhöring, Christian Schächer for the Christian Socialists, Caren Lipp for the citizen list Steinhöring and Martina Lietsch try for the free list.
Mayor election 2020: Ebersberg
There is also a change in Ebersberg in the 2020 local election year: incumbent Walter Brilmayer (CSU) leaves his post for reasons of age. He has ruled the county seat for more than two decades. Alexander Gressierer wants to take a seat on his mayor's chair. The 24-year-old CSU chairman convinced over 80 percent of the party members at the nomination meeting. The free voters unanimously agreed on Toni Ried, who has been a member of the city council since 1984. The Ebersberger SPD has nominated Uli Proske as a candidate for mayor. The FDP wants to send Berhard Spötzl to the Ebersberg town hall. Josef Peis joins the new group “Pro Ebersberg”.
Mayor election 2020: Grafing
Angelika Obermayr , the only green mayor in the district, rules in Grafing. She is also running for the upcoming local elections. Christian Bauer wants to contest her position. The Grafinger CSU nominated him with 100 percent of the vote. The free voters in Grafing have no candidate for mayor. The Social Democrats chose Christian Kerschner-Gehrling as their candidate. Claus Eimer goes for the Grafinger FDP is race. Walter Schmidtke is running for the Bavarian Party.
Mayor election 2020: Aßling
No real surprise: Mayor Hans Fent received 100 percent of the votes from free voters, the Greens and the SPD during the joint assembly meeting. This makes Fent the only candidate for mayor.
Mayor election 2020: Emmering
The Emmering council chief Max Maier (citizen for Emmering), who is currently ill, is not running again. In any case, Josef Stocker, who is independent of the party politics, is in the southeastern commune. Hubert Rüegg has been nominated as a candidate for mayor of the Christian Socialists. In addition, Claudia Streu-Sagittarius enters the race for the free electorate.
Mayor election 2020: Frauenneuharting
The voter community Frauenneuharting (WGF) has again nominated the acting mayor Eduard Koch as its candidate for mayor. So far there are no counterparties.
Mayor election 2020: Bruck
In the municipality of Bruck, incumbent Josef Schwäbl (CSU) is running for election again. Angela Felzmann-Gaibinger takes up the “Open Politics in Bruck” list.
Mayor election 2020: Moosach
Mayor Eugen Gillhuber (CSU) does not start again. Michael Eisenschmid is the candidate for mayor of the "CSU and Moosacher Bürger". Andrea Hinterwaldner is a candidate for women for Moosach. Norbert Probul is racing for UWG and AMB.
Mayor election 2020: Glonn
Josef Oswald is the incumbent and candidate of the CSU for the upcoming election. He has no counterparties for the office.
Mayor election 2020: Baiern
Martin Riedl had replaced Josef Zistl in 2018 after 22 years in office. He was elected for a total of eight years until the next local election in 2026, which means that he does not have to stand for election again in 2020. Therefore, there will be no mayor election in the municipality of Baiern next year. Special feature of the small community: there is only one faction, the list unity.
Mayor election 2020: Egmating
Ernst Eberherr (CSU) is Mayor of Egmating. He wants to stay that way. Inge Heiler wants to contest the post. She is a candidate for mayor of the Active Citizens List (ABE). Bernhard Wagner competes for SPD / non-partisans.
Mayor election 2020: Oberpframmern
Here Andreas Lutz is the only candidate for the CSU.
