Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and prominent members of the government are behind "
possible crimes against humanity
" in the country torn by political and economic crisis, UN investigators said Wednesday, citing systematic use torture and murder.

The team of investigators - who made their first report there - claimed to have found evidence of crimes against humanity and indicated that they had "
good reason to believe that the president
" as well as two ministers, including that of the Defense, "
ordered or helped to order the proven crimes
".
