At 9:58 in the morning, a staff member of the Wan Chai Post Office reported that the post office had received 41 suspicious powder letters.

The police officers arrived at the scene with a gas mask to examine the powder letters.

One hour later, the police received a report from a resident of Jinsheng Building, 14-24 Stone Shuiqu Street, saying that there was a suspicious white powder letter in his mailbox. The police found a total of 50 powder letters in the mailbox of the building.

After the personnel of the Explosives Disposal Division arrived at the scene for inspection, they believed that the powder had no explosive ingredients and was taken away for further inspection.

Initial investigations by the police revealed that the case was classified as suspicious and was handed over to the Regional Crime Squad of Hong Kong Island for follow-up. No one was arrested and no one was injured in the incident.

According to the source, the post office staff found the powdered letters and put them in a room and reported the case. The batch of 41 powdered letters were sent to a residential building on Thomson Road in Wanchai and Fu Wo Building on Tai Wo Street, and 50 powdered letters from King Sing Building. The packaging of the letter is the same. The envelope contains a transparent plastic bag with white powder and a piece of paper. The white powder is believed to be K-boy and powdered sugar. The paper says that you want to take drugs and go to a commercial and residential building in Hung Hom.

The police then rushed to the Hung Hom unit to investigate. Initially, they believed that there was no suspiciousness. They are investigating the purpose of the powder letter.

Three buildings in Wan Chai received 54 suspicious powder letters last month

On the 29th and 30th of last month, a total of 54 powder letters were found in three buildings in Wan Chai, including Fu Wo Building, which was originally sent this time, as well as Lido Building, 2 Landale Street and Po Chi Court, 15 Ship Street , And the packaging at the end of the letter is the same as this time, but the white powder is only powdered sugar, without knickers and paper strips.

The police classified the three cases as "Suspicious Objects Found" cases and handled them together and handed them to the Second Team of the Wan Chai Police District Crime Squad for follow-up. No one has been arrested yet.

A spokesperson for the Post Office said that in the morning, staff of the Wan Chai Delivery Office found 41 suspicious letters while processing mail, and they immediately called the police for handling.

The police have conducted an investigation and the delivery service has not been affected.
