Popular character, Hello Kitty, will work with the United Nations on activities to deepen understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Kitty appears at a press conference held at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the 24th. “I want to make a peaceful world where everyone can compassionately say“ Hello ”,” he said.

The SDGs adopted at the 15-year United Nations Summit aim to achieve 17 goals by 30 years, such as eliminating poverty and hunger and providing quality education to all. Kitty has been introducing Japan's efforts in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but will expand its activities worldwide. The plan is to create videos by visiting UN SDG activities around the world and sending them out once a month on YouTube.

Kitty born in the UK is good at English. The UN watched the global popularity of 50,000 character products being sold in 130 countries. On the 24th, United Nations deputy general secretary Amina Mohammed asked Kitty to cooperate, saying “To achieve the goal, cooperation is needed not only in Japan, but around the world.” One work was released.
