Argentine Rafael Grossi was elected today as Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The French ambassador to the United Nations in Vienna, Xavier Stecker, said on Twitter that Grossy had won the majority described in the board of governors, noting that the IAEA had taken a decisive step to elect its director general.
Japan's former director general Yukiya Amano died in July after heading the agency for 10 years.
