Iranian security forces have arrested a cell of foreign nationals professionally vandalizing public property in the capital Tehran.

The Iranian Fars News Agency reported today that "a patrol of the security services was performing a mission to inspect the situation in Tehran saw a group of foreign nationals who set fire to a number of banks," explaining that the investigation revealed that this cell of seven foreign nationals were traveling in the streets of South Tehran has vandalized public property, including a number of banks.

The agency pointed out that the investigations are continuing to find out the backgrounds and motives behind this cell.

Earlier in the day, Tehran's police chief, Brigadier-General Hossein Rahimi, confirmed that rioters had committed atrocities and mobs in the capital Tehran over the past two days and caused much damage to public and private property.
