Turkey's opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) has called for early municipal and parliamentary elections in Turkey in response to the authoritarian policies of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The co-presidents of the party, Sizai Tamali and Parvin Boldan, described Erdogan as an "authoritarian, dictator and fascist who seeks to destroy democracy, the enemy of peoples not only inside Turkey but in Syria and Iraq," condemning the Turkish regime's aggression on Syrian territory and its continued interference in Syria's internal affairs.

Events over the past years have shown that Erdogan's regime and government have been involved in supporting and financing terrorist organizations in Syria and other countries, in addition to making Turkey a transit route for tens of thousands of terrorists from different countries to the Syrian territories.

Boldan and Tamali called on all forces to "jointly and effectively fight against the Erdogan regime," expressing their refusal to withdraw from the Turkish parliament and resign as mayor ruled by the PDP.

Last month, the Turkish authorities arrested mayors belonging to the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) after they were sacked and appointed other officials in their repressive measures to prevent the opposition from expressing their opposition to its policies, especially its aggression on Syrian territory.
