The US military command in Africa announced the loss of an unarmed command plane over the Libyan capital Tripoli.

The US command said in a statement on its website that an unarmed US aircraft was missing over the Libyan capital Tripoli yesterday.

The statement added that the US military command in Africa is currently investigating the incident.

The US military leadership claimed that it was constantly working in Libya to "assess the security situation and monitor violent extremist activity," noting that its operations are "in full coordination with government officials."

Since the NATO aggression against Libya in 2011, Libya has witnessed a state of chaos and security chaos in light of the proliferation of weapons and terrorist organizations that are trying to impose its influence and control over various cities and regions, while the two main parties are currently fighting the government of reconciliation in western Libya and the government operating in eastern Libya.
