Death sentences and executions continue to fall in the United States. For the fifth consecutive year there have been less than fifty and less than thirty respectively. (HANDLE)

(ANSA) - NEW YORK, DECEMBER 17 - Death sentences and executions continue to fall in the United States. For the fifth consecutive year there were less than fifty emeno of thirty respectively. According to the Death Penalty Information Center, in 2010 22 inmates were executed, the second minimostorico since 1973. In 2018 they were instead 25.
The black jersey belongs to Texas with nine executed, followed by Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and South Dakota.
In the US there are now 32 states where the resignation penalty is not in force while at federal level the last execution dates back to 2003. However, Justice Minister William Barr just a few months ago announced his intention to take them back. President Trump is also a supporter of the death penalty.
