The new citizenship law for refugees from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan who are not Muslims unleashed the anger of many people in that country who accuse the law of being racist and unconstitutional. The complaint was raised to the Supreme Court that gave the government until January to prove that it is not unconstitutional. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, says that they will never deny rights to the Muslim citizens of India while the government justifies itself by ensuring that the non-Muslim population of those countries are persecuted minorities.
