MASSA MARITTIMA (GROSSETO) - Jams, pickled vegetables and fruit juices: this is the production of the new food processing laboratory inaugurated in the district house of Massa Marittima (Grosseto): twelve prisoners involved (out of about 60 inmates in the penitentiary institution) in a highly specialized training course. Local farms belonging to the Pulmino Contadino association network supply the raw materials. The products will bear the label 'Crime of gluttony', a brand created by the same prisoners who have already worked in the classroom with more experts, both for communication and graphics and for the food, nutritional and organic part as well as the kitchen.

The goal is to give prisoners a "good training to be able to spend outside", explained the director of the prison, Maria Cristina Morrone, who also thanked Carlo Mazzerbo from whom he inherited the project together with the handover to the management of prison. Also involved in the project are Slow Food Monteregio, active in prison since 2006, and the headquarters of Follonica del Cpia 1 Grosseto, the Center for adult education which integrated the project that connects education to training into the school training program. then to work.
