(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, DECEMBER 27 - The Turkish Armed Forces are ready for a possible commitment in Libya in support of the government of Tripoli against the forces of General Khalifa Haftar, requested by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The army is "ready to perform any task at home and abroad", his spokesman Nadide Sebnem Aktop declared during the press conference at the end of the year. The Ankara Parliament will vote on a motion authorizing the sending of troops after the opening at the end of the year-end break, next January 7. Pro-Turkish Syrian rebel groups will also be deployed in Libya in support of Fayez al-Sarraj's government of national agreement (GNA) against the forces of General Khalifa Haftar. A senior Tripoli government official said so.
