Death invested: Genoese gip, upset and devastated

The young man is accused of the double street murder of Camilla and Gaia that took place in Rome between 21 and 22 December (ANSA)

" I am shocked and devastated by what has happened ." This is what Pietro Genovese said, according to what his defenders reported, during the guarantee questioning before the magistrate which lasted about an hour. Genovese is under house arrest for having run over and killed two sixteen-year-old girls, Gaia Von Freymann and Camilla Romagnoli. Dark jacket and low gaze, the 20 year old was accompanied by his defenders, Franco Coppi and Gianluca Tognozzi.

" I started with the green ", reiterated Genovese responding to the investigating judge. During the investigation, the suspect rebuilt, often interrupted by tears, on the evening of the accident he had spent at a friend's house to celebrate his return from Erasmus. Returning home he walked Corso Francia where, he would have said, he left with the traffic light that marked "green".

"This is a tragedy for all three families involved. Genovese is not the killer described and deserves respect and understanding as the families of these two girls," say the young man's defenders. "Our client answered the questions - added the criminal lawyers. At present we have not filed for the precautionary measure to be mitigated. We will also reflect on a possible appeal to the Review".
