The winter hit Israel with cold weather, floods and showers, but on Saturday afternoon at America's Zionists it was warm and pleasant during the "China Festival", which was marked by a host of colorful events involving Israeli and Chinese content creators and culture. Alongside a variety of spicy, sugary and unconventional dishes from Sichuan cuisine, including private chef Tomer Bar Meir, and a host of diverse food stalls, cultural, singing and dance performances from the East's huge repertoire were held.

But the highlight of the event, for us at least, was the traditional Chinese tea ceremony hosted by the couple Nadav Biran and Pink Locke, who introduced, prepared and served a variety of traditional types of tea from around China.

The couple, who import tea and related products from their many visits to China, conduct private tea ceremonies at their home in the Florentine neighborhood of Tel Aviv. The two demonstrated together three unique types of Chinese tea. While Pink demonstrated the right gentle movements for making the tea, Nadav explained the drink to the audience instead and shared sweet things that they usually eat alongside the tea.

The ceremony was accompanied by a play on Rowan, traditional musical instruments, Moran Rosenshine, a Rowan player and a Chinese language tour guide. The raining outside, the soothing strings of the roan and the warm and comforting tea have inspired a homey atmosphere about the meticulous ceremony.
