The recent snow and rainfalls in the governorate of As-Suwayda led to the flow of water in several valleys, including those feeding the dams of the governorate.

Eng. Mahmoud Melli, Director of Water Resources, said in a statement to SANA correspondent today that the flow of wadis is concentrated in the mountainous areas feeding the dams, and their abundance varied according to the amounts of precipitation, which contributes to the improvement of the percentage of water stored in them.

Eng. Milli pointed out that the quantities of water currently stored in the dams of the governorate amount to 12 million and 121 thousand cubic meters, and their levels will improve in the coming days, subject to the melting of snow and the continuation of rain precipitation well.

The number of dams in the Governorate of Sweida is 18, with a maximum storage of 67 million cubic meters.
