(ANSA) - TEHERAN, JAN 12 - The Iranian parliament has listened to the Pasdaran commander, the Guardians of the Revolution, gen. Hossein Salami, who reported on the closing of the shooting down, with a missile launched by his men, of the Ukrainian Boeing which killed 176 people.
Nothing has transpired of the technical explanations provided by the captain. But Salami, according to a Tabriz MP, allegedly expressed the notion that after the Tehran missile attack on two US conmilitary military bases in Iraq, plans and forecasts had been made, but that fighting against a superpower "is not a normal situation".
"We never thought of doing anything wrong to people," said the Pasdaran commander, quoted by the MP. "We are worried about the Ukrainian plane as a non-maie. I would have preferred to have been on board that Boeing 737 with passengers that I would have to be ashamed of in front of the Iranian ananation," said the Gen. Salami.
