(ANSA) - NEW YORK, JANUARY 13 - China is no longer a currency manipulator. The United States removes the label they had stuck in Beijing last August, in what is a restraining gesture ahead of the signing of the mini-trade agreement between the two countries scheduled for January 15. The Treasury Department explains that the removal is linked to the commitments that China has made to avoid competitive devaluations. Beijing at the same time, the Treasury points out, has committed itself to promoting greater transparency.
