German Foreign Minister Haikou Maas announced that the Libyan Army Commander, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar agreed to adhere to the ceasefire and expressed his readiness to participate in an upcoming international conference on Libya next Sunday in Berlin.

"Field Marshal Hifter has made clear that he wants to contribute to the success of the Berlin conference on Libya and he is ready in principle to participate ... He also agreed to abide by the ceasefire," Maas was quoted as saying in a tweet published by the Foreign Ministry after talks in Benghazi.
