Tropical Winter Festival kicked off today in the Russian capital, Moscow, which showcases rare orchids of different types and different tropical and predatory and unique plants from all over the world.

The director of the Moscow State Botanical Garden, Alexei Ritium, said in an interview with Russia Today that the festival, which is hosted by the State Botanical Garden at Moscow State University, attracts thousands of visitors from all over Russia at a time when temperatures drop to record levels and the winter frosts prevail over the country.

Retium explained that the Winter Festival is filled with distinctive plants gathered by scientists over centuries of environments that are radically different from Russia, indicating that the park administration uses the historical garden space to create a kind of winter opulence so that its visitors enjoy warm moments of the summer atmosphere.

Retium pointed out that there are more than 1100 types of orchids in the festival in all colors of the spectrum, even black orchids and golden orchids are the rarest varieties that grow only in Yunnan, in addition to the largest water lilies in the world, guava, papaya, perennial palm trees, mango and pineapple, as well as the richest groups of cactuses, olivera and stones Live.

The tropical winter festival lasts until the seventh of April.
