(ANSA) - PARIS, JANUARY 26 - In France the number of attractors and xenophobes has more than doubled in 2019 compared to the previous year, the Interior Ministry has announced.
After a two-year decline, acts of racist and xenophobic hatred went from 496 in 2018 to 1,142 in 2019, with an increase of 130%: "These facts - explains the ministry - essentially concern the category of threats (977)". The ministry also accounted for an increase (by 27%) in anti-Semitic acts, which went from 541 to 687.
