(CNN) - The president of the United States, Donald Trump, presented his plan for the Middle East, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his side.

Netanyahu was charged in corruption cases early Tuesday, just hours after withdrawing his immunity request.

The attorney general's measure of accusing the leader in court will mean that Netanyahu will be Israel's first prime minister to be tried.

Netanyahu is in the White House before the Israeli elections in March.

President Donald Trump said the plan he is presenting represents a great step towards peace in the Middle East.

“Today Israel takes a big step towards peace. Young people across the Middle East are ready for a more hopeful future, and governments across the region are realizing that terrorism and Islamic extremism are the common enemy of all, ”he said.

He went on to say that he has spoken with Israeli leaders and said that "his vision presents an opportunity to win or win for both sides, a realistic two-state solution that solves the risk of the Palestinian state to Israel's security."
