PISTOIA - Historical trains of the museum-depot of the Pistoia railways (steam in winter, electric in summer) will cover the 40 km of the Pistoia-Porretta Terme mountain line as part of the initiatives of the Year of the tourist train, which will be officially inaugurated on February 25th throughout Italy, and whose preview was celebrated today with a trip on the Porrettana.
Eight trips scheduled between June and October. On this mountain railway line, still used by travelers and commuters, historical convoys from the 30s to the 50s will be circulated on some weekends, kept in perfect working order in the Pistoia depot. The trains will make all the stops in the stations of the tiny Tuscan-Emilian Apennines before arriving in Porretta Teme (Bologna) and back.
