Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated his country's readiness to cooperate with the European Union to resolve issues related to the nuclear deal.

"Iran is still ready to interact and cooperate with the European Union to solve the issues and whenever the opposite side fully complies with its obligations, Iran will return to its obligations," Rouhani said during his meeting in Tehran today, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, according to the Fars news agency.

Rouhani pointed out that America has committed major strategic mistakes towards the countries of the region, including Iran, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and Afghanistan, indicating that America's unilateral exit from the nuclear agreement created obstacles and major problems for the rest of the parties in the full implementation of the nuclear agreement signed with Iran.

For his part, Borrell said that "European countries seek to preserve the nuclear agreement and resolve contentious issues to preserve it," adding that he would do his utmost to create strong cooperation aimed at preserving the nuclear agreement.

In turn, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed with Borel the nuclear agreement signed with Iran and the latest developments at the regional and international levels, including the current situation in the Gulf region and the need to reduce regional tensions and the so-called "deal of the century" and its dangerous repercussions on the region and the world.
